General Resort Code
The Alpine Responsibility Code provides basic rules of conduct and must be followed by all visitors using the terrain. This responsibility code applies at ski areas across Canada.
- Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
- People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You mustavoid them.
- Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
- Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
- You must prevent runaway equipment.
- Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
- Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- You must know how and be able to load, ride, and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
- Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

- Always check posted trail conditions.
- Ski in indicated direction and obey all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails.
- Always ski to right when meeting on-coming skiers and when skiing on double track.
- Yield the track to faster skiers and skiers calling 'track'.
- Ski in control. On two-way trails descending skiers have the right-of-way.
- Do not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible to others. Move off the track quickly if you fall or during rest stops.
- Do not litter. Take out what you pack in. Respect all property.
- Report all incidents

Children in backpacks or chest carriers are not permitted on the chairlift.
Unless prior arrangements have been made with management, White Hills Resort prohibits the operation or use of drones by employees or the public. This includes drones for filming, or drone use by media and journalists operating within the White Hills ski area boundary. The policy applies to any drone launched from outside the ski area boundary but flown in.
Sledding, sliding, tobogganing, and tubing are NOT PERMITTED within the ski area boundary. All alternative sliding devices like snow bikes and snow skates require prior approval and inspection from White Hills Resort Ski Patrol prior to lift ticket purchase or terrain access via the lift system. For lift use, skis with metal edges are required.
Users should be familiar with the use of lifts for their own safety and the safety of others. There are many signs to inform you about the process of loading, riding and unloading the chairlift. Please obey these signs. If you are unfamiliar with a lift or have questions, please ask a lift attendant for assistance.
No foot passengers are allowed on the White Hills chairlift or Magic Carpet without a ticket and prior approval.
You must not use lifts or terrain if your ability is impaired through the use of alcohol or drugs.
Children seven (7) years and younger must be accompanied by an individual who is thirteen (13) years or older when riding the chairlift at White Hills Resort.
Alcohol consumption outside of licensed areas within the White Hills Resort Day Lodge is strictly prohibited. Bringing your own personal alcohol for consumption anywhere on resort property is not permitted.
Walking around the resort presents hazards with a potential for serious injury. Surfaces including roadways, walkways, parking lots, building entrances, decks, and stairs can become icy making slips and falls a potential risk. White Hills Resort employees do their best to maintain all surfaces, however guests should take extra precautions when walking. Ski boots do not offer proper traction, and guests are encouraged to wear footwear designed for walking in a winter environment. Please always use extra caution while walking in and around the resort.
White Hills Resort Touring and Off-Season Access POlicy
When White Hills Resort is open for the winter season, hiking or ski touring is NOT PERMITTED within the ski area boundary before, during, or after operating hours. This is due to operational hazards.
When White Hills is open for the season, hiking or ski touring through the ski area to access terrain outside the ski area boundary is NOT PERMITTED before, during, or after operating hours. This is due to operational hazards. Skiing and snowboarding privileges will be suspended if this policy is not respected.
Before heading into the backcountry ask yourself and your skiing and riding partners the following questions:
- Do I/we have knowledge of terrain and phenomena?
- Do I/we have the necessary rescue and safety equipment and the skills to use them?
- Do I/we have a competent partner?
- Do I/we have a map and compass and skills to use the min all weather conditions?
- Did I/we check the latest weather forecast?
- Are we prepared to complete our own rescue?
- Have I/we talked to locals or the White Hills Ski Patrol about the area and conditions?
If you cannot answer yes to all seven of these questions you should stay within the ski area boundary.
Please ensure you read the Exclusion of Liability notice prior to visiting the area. During the White Hills Resort off-season, recreational vehicles (snowmobiles, ATVs, dirt bikes, etc.), sledding, tobogganing, and tubing are NOT PERMITTED within the ski area boundary. When White Hills is not operating, visiting the resort is not recommended as numerous risks and hazards exist. These include but are not limited to variable snow conditions, exposed rocks and trees, machine work, lift maintenance, etc.

Vast backcountry terrain surrounds White Hills Resort. Before venturing beyond the ski area boundary, we recommend all skiers and snowboarders have strong backcountry travel skills. Be aware that human-made and natural hazards exist, including stumps, cliff bands, rocks, trails, and roadways. Terrain beyond the ski area boundary is not patrolled.
